Cooking Instructions:

  1. Remove Prime Rib from refrigerator about an hour before roasting.
  2. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  3. Liberally season the roast with Spiceology Prime Rib Rub and salt.
  4. Place the Prime Rib in a high-sided roasting pan bone-side down. The bones create a natural roasting rack for the meat.
  5. Cook the roast at high heat for 20-30 minutes, then reduce the oven temperature to 275°F. Continue to cook the roast until your meat thermometer reads 120-125°F; about 15-20 minutes of cooking time per pound of prime rib. But alway rely on the thermometer.
  6. Once the thermometer hits its target temperature, remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for 20-30 minutes. The roast will continue to cook as the juices inside settle, raising the internal temperature to 130°F for a perfect medium to medium-rare Prime Rib.
