Directions
Prepare the Steak
Remove steak from packaging and pat dry with paper towels.
In a shallow dish, mix flour and Hardcore Carnivore Black seasoning. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
Dredge each steak piece in the flour mixture, then the eggs, then back into the flour for a thorough coating.
Fry The Steak
Heat about ½ inch of oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Carefully add breaded steak to the hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through (about 3–4 minutes per side).
Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
Make The Gravy
In the same pan, reduce heat to medium and add chopped red onion and butter. Cook until the butter is melted and onions are translucent.
Stir in the heavy cream and chicken stock. Simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.
Cook The Fried
While the gravy simmers, prepare the fries according to package directions or make your own from scratch.
Assemble the Poutine
On a plate or shallow bowl, layer fries and scatter cheese curds on top. Pour hot gravy generously over the fries and curds.
Slice or place the chicken fried steak on top. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
